Comparisons

To show a list or a table of allowed versus unsupported features or techniques, use class="compare-yes" and class="compare-no". To show a comparison between approved versus not-recommended approaches, use class="compare-better" and class="compare-worse".

The following examples demonstrate how these classes insert appropriate icons and style the text.

Not recommended — indent with tabs

The following example shows how to use these classes in a comparison table.

The following tabs displays the source code for the basic and accessibility compliant versions of this sample comparison table.

The accessibility compliant version is needed to support assistive technology such as screen readers. In this version each cell in the table has an empty <span> element with an aria-label that is used to provide meaningful help text. Because the help text will document the comparison, you can also add aria-hidden="true" to row and column headers.
